With SCOUT package no "Silent Setup" is possible under the operating system Microsoft Windows 7.
1 SIMOTION SCOUT (Disk1)
With the over-all software package SIMOTION V4.2 SP1, the SCOUT engineering software in the complete package is installed on your computer by means of the SCOUT DVD's. The installation requirements are to be noted for the installation of SCOUT. These and other important information can be found in the directory CD_1...\SCOUT\Disk1. The license memory medium with the SCOUT license key forms a part of the SCOUT installation. This is installed via the Automation License Manager.
Under Disk1 is stored the control setup for the installation procedure .
If a SCOUT Stand-alone was delivered, the needed STEP7 parts will be installed in addition to SCOUT. These files are located on Disk1. SCOUT Stand-alone needs approximately 3 GB free memory space on hard disk.
2 SIMOTION SCOUT (CD_1-5)
The CD_1 to CD_5 contains the installation files for SIMOTION SCOUT V4.2 SP1.
3 SIMOTION SCOUT Add-on
The SCOUT AddOn contains important information about V4.2 SP1, the SIMOTION kernel for all platforms, as well as information about SIMOTION IT.
4 SIMOTION Extensions - CamTool
CamTool software facilitates comfortable creation of cams. CamTool is a SIMOTION SCOUT optional package and is to be separately licensed.
5 SINAMICS Support Package (SSP_CD1/SSP_INT_CD1)
Additional firmware of SINAMICS drives are stored as SSP and will be installed automatically.
6 DriveES Basic
DriveES Basic software can be installed on the SCOUT engineering computer for project planning and start-up of the Masterdrives and SIMODRIVES drives components. The DriveES Basic software is licensed for use with this SCOUT license. Please note when installing DriveES Basic that the STARTER cannot be installed as simultaneous operation of SCOUT and STARTER is not possible.
7 SIMATIC NET
The correct SIMATIC NET version for the SIMOTION P350 V4.2 SP1 is supplied without license with SCOUT. For the utilization, a license must be ordered separately. The SIMATIC NET version supplied with SCOUT only runs on the WINDOWS XP operating systems.
8 Documentation
The Documentation directory contains the SIMOTION documentation in German, English, Italian and French in PDF format.
9 Utilities & Applications
The free-of-charge Utilities & Applications provide important background information about SIMOTION, tools, special functions, blocks and SIMOTION project examples as well as ready-to-use standard applications (e.g. handling, cross cutter, etc.) for demonstration purposes or use in your projects. You can also find detailed information there about scripting and many sample scripts that further facilitate working with SIMOTION.
An HTML user interface enables easy navigation through the comprehensive contents of the Utilities & Applications.
You can start the navigation by opening the "index.htm" in the Utilities & Applications directory.
The software on Utilities & Applications may be used, changed and extended by SIMOTION customers in applications without charge, and executed in SIMOTION runtime systems. Any required runtime licenses for the execution of the software are not included in this free use and must be ordered and licensed separately. The type of use of this software means that it is subject to the following limited liability.
9.1 Limitation of Liability
The application examples contained on the Utilities & Applications and the associated documentation are made available without charge. The customer receives for the software, the non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-charged right to use the software; this includes the right to change the software, to copy (changed or unchanged) the software, and to use the software with the customer's own software.
Siemens AG has not subjected the software to the normal system test otherwise usual for software.
Any liability - irrespective of the legal reason - in particular, resulting from software faults or the associated documentation or faults resulting from consulting are excluded, unless liability exists, for example, because of intention, gross negligence, death, injury, the acceptance of property guarantee, malicious concealment of a fault or the violations of significant contractual obligations. A reversal of the requirement for proof to the customer's disadvantage is thus not included.
German law applies. Erlangen is the place of jurisdiction.
Software Compatibility
The combination possibilities of all the relevant software products that can be used with SIMOTION are contained in a compatibility list. The list shows which versions of the individual products (engineering tools, HMI tools, SIMOTION runtime, drive firmware versions) have been released for use together.
